What are differences between the light rail systems in Rock City and Iron City?
~ The light rail that goes between any two points in Rock City will always stay in Rock City. However, there are times when the light rail might pass outside of Iron City even though it connects two points in Iron City.
What do you think are the key terms and definitions? What did you have the most difficulty understanding?
~ Answers will vary. Keywords and definitions are:
Convex region: A region such that if any two points are in the region, then the line segment connecting them is also in the region.
Concave region: A region that is not convex.
Polygonal region: A region whose boundary is a polygon.
Convex polygonal region: A polygonal region such that if any two points are in the region, then the line segment connecting them is also in the region. Also known as a convex polygon.
Concave polygonal region: A polygonal region that is not convex. Also known as a concave polygon.
Describe a concave polygonal region in your own words. Do not use the word "convex."
~ Answers will vary. A concave polygonal region is a region whose boundary is a polygon and such that there are two points in the region for which the line segment connecting them is not entirely contained in the region.
Draw a convex and a concave polygon.
