You will explore the union and intersection of sets and set properties.
After completing this tutorial, you will be able to complete the following:
Learners discover and manipulate intersection and union of sets. They use the properties of the union and intersection of sets to describe a variety of sets.
Union and intersection of sets
Lists of objects can be placed in sets. A set is a group of entities with one or more common characteristic. Entities can be referred to as members, elements, or objects. When sets are joined, some elements of a set may belong to both sets.
A Venn diagram can be drawn with the common elements in the middle. The common elements form a set, called the intersection of the sets.
